羊ノ糸を大人にも子供にも使ってもらいたいなといつも考えていて…

こどもたちが小さかった頃からずっと頭の片隅にいる小さな生き物…
絵本に出てくる動物たちのように、服を着て人間みたいに歩いたり手を使ったり話したりして、
目が小さくて、小さな目で独自の視点で世界を見ていて、独自のスタイルの服を着こなしていて、
小さな目の他にながーい耳やとんがった鼻を持っていたりして…

子供のニットとお揃いを着た人形が好きで、お揃いの服を着た人形を持った子供が好きで…
・
赤ちゃんや小さい子にも寄り添うような、全部が糸でできていて柔らかくて、わかりやすくてシンプルな形で、それでいて大人の心にも寄り添うような佇まいで、やけに可愛い服を着ているような人形が好きで…

従姉妹の赤ちゃんに何か手編みをプレゼントしたいなと考えていた時に、ふわふわと頭の中にあったあれこれがぎゅっとまとまってこんな形になりました。

白い2人は白い羊そのままの色
グレーの2人はグレーの羊と白い羊が混ざった色
鼻は桜の枝で染めた桜色
目と口は黒に近い茶色の毛をもつ羊のうちの一つZwartblesそのままの色
中に詰めた綿は自分で毛刈りをして一頭分いただいた羊毛のうち糸にしない部分を使いました
服はいろんな大好きな色を使って編みました♡

I am always exploring ways for children to enjoy our locally sourced wool yarn, even though it might not have the soft feel that children would love to wear...

Ever since my kids were small, a little creature has lived in the corner of my mind.
Like characters from beloved picture books, it walks, uses its hands, talks just like a human, and dressed in tailored outfits.
Maybe it has tiny eyes paired with extra long ears or a pointy nose.
With its tiny eyes, it sees the world from its own unique perspective, and dressed in its own distinctive style....

I've always loved dolls that wear matching clothes with kids(their owners).
Dolls made entirely of soft natural materials, gentle enough for babies and toddlers, simple and charming in shape, yet has something touches adult hearts too.

When I was thinking about knitting something for my cousin's baby, all those floating thoughts came together and took this shape.

White ones are knitted with undyed white wool yarn.
Grey ones are knitted with mix of undyed white and grey wool yarn.
Pink of nose is dyed with sakura branches.
Dark brown nearly black color of eyes and mouths is un-dyed color of Zwartbles sheep.
For the stuffing I used carded wool I sheared myself and received as a whole, selecting the pieces that were not suitable for spinning into yarn.
For the outfits I used my favorite colorful yarns.
