[Pattern] Konoha Bag - English

A round shape bag knitted seamlessly without even cutting the yarn from start to finish.
Its beautifully repeated and joined lace patterns remind me of leaf (konoha) crowns I made over and over again as a child… For every day, for all seasons, enjoyable in many ways!

Construction:
The bag is knitted top-down in the round. Then the round-shaped bottom is created seamlessly using short rows.

Required techniques:
knit, purl, left/right leaning decreases, centered double decrease (*video tutorial included), short-row (*video tutorial included), kitchener stitch in garter stitch (*video tutorial included).

S - Approximately 300 m / 330 yards of Light Fingering weight yarn held double
sample shown in Holst Garn Coast (55% wool and 45% cotton, 350 m / 383 yards per 50 g)
in shade Olive - 42 g
M - Approximately 170 m / 185 yards of DK weight yarn
sample shown in Daruma SASAWASHI (100% Kumasasa - bamboo, 48 m / 52 yards per 25 g)
in shade 2 Light brown - 87 g
L - Approximately 190 m / 210 yards of Bulky weight yarn (finished with felting)
sample shown in Ístex Álafosslopi (100% Icelandic wool, 100 m / 109 yards per 100 g)
in shade white 0051 - 156 g (for a bag) and Black heather 0005 - 32g (for 2 straps)

Gauge:
S - 21 sts and 30 rnds, using 3.5 mm / US4 needle, blocked
M - 18 sts and 26 rnds, using 3.5 mm / US4 needle, blocked
L - 15 sts and 22 rnds, using 6.5 mm / US10½ needle, blocked and felted (13 sts and 19 rnds before blocking) = 10 cm / 4" in lace pattern.

Needles:
- circular needle in size 3.5 (3.5) 6.5 mm / US4 (4) 10½ with cable length of at least 40 (40) 60 cm / 16 (16) 24’’ (or needle size to obtain gauge)
*This pattern uses the magic loop technique.
- 2 dpns in the same size for i-cord straps
